All Alice

SONY DSC

I had a quilted cream colored fabric that I was going to get rid of but started wondering how it would take an iron-on image.  Well, it came out great and I decided to keep it and use it to make a few pillows {and maybe a Christmas stocking}.  I now have one pillow in my Etsy and one in the process!  I used the White Rabbit image on this one.

SONY DSC

Added a ruffle, some crinkled seam binding, and a bit of bling {an earring I found at an estate sale}.  It measures 8 x 11 {from ruffle to ruffle}.

SONY DSC

I’ve added this to my Etsy shop.  As soon as I buy the pillow form for the other one, I’ll have that finished up and in my Etsy shop, too.  Meanwhile, last week I did a little girl’s apron with the White Rabbit, too.

It seems like it is all Alice all the time here at the moment!

Refresh Of A . . . Um . . . Thingamabob

2013 06 12_1572

As you can tell, I’m not really sure what to call this “thing” I picked up for $3.00 at our community garage sale about a month ago.

SONY DSC

It’s got two baskets {that lift up}and four hooks on the bottom.  I think it would be great to use in a kitchen displaying some dishes and holding either towels or aprons, in a bathroom with rolled up towels in the baskets, or even outside with the baskets planted with flowers and the hooks holding some small garden tools.

I wanted to give it a refresh because I wasn’t feeling that green color.  I sprayed it with Rustoleum’s Heirloom White 2x coverage spray paint.

I found a spot where I could hang it up and style it to give a few ideas for its use.

I will ask my daughter if she is interested in it, otherwise it is going to the booth.

The Creative HomeAcre Blog Hop

Creative_HomeAcre_Blog_Hop3

Welcome to The Creative HomeAcre Blog Hop! The Creative HomeAcre Hop is hosted by me and,

Manuela from A Cultivated Nest

Mary from Back to the Basics and Mary’s Kitchen

Alison from Mumtopia

Andrea from Opulent Cottage

and Lisa Lynn from The Self Sufficient HomeAcre

That means that when you link up your posts each week, they will be viewed by even more people! Each host will be sharing her own picks for Featured Bloggers. This gives everyone a better chance of being featured and increases your exposure to new readers. Be sure to check all of our blogs to see if you were featured!

There were a few posts I was going to feature but there was no link back to the blog hop, so if you want to be featured make sure you have a link back to one of our blogs within your post.

Tammy from My Little Corner of the Prairie shared a great wine cork project.

Cheryl from The Creative Me and My McG shared some lovely blooms in her garden.

You can find all the posts that I have featured on my Pinterest board, The Creative HomeAcre Hop Features.  Don’t forget to visit the other co-hosts to see who they have featured.  If you were featured, please feel free to grab the I Was Featured button!

The rules are simple for linking up:

1. Share up to 3 of your Creative Home posts featuring home decor, home cooking, eco-friendly crafts, your gardens, vintage finds, thrifty tips, objects d’ art, fiber arts and sewing, farm girl fashion, food preservation, photography, creative writing, and gardening helpers, hand made ‘wholesomeness’, and good ol’ fashioned homemaking news. Etsy sellers are welcome to share here, too.

2. Please link back to the hop in your post. If you don’t take a couple of seconds to do this, you won’t be featured. You can use the cute buttons, or you can use a text link in your post. Thanks for sharing the hop with others!

3. Please mingle! Visit a few of the bloggers posting. Don’t just link and run :) The whole point of a hop is to build a community of like minded bloggers who share and support each other.

4. You are welcome to link your archived posts here, as long as all of the content you share is your own.

5. Link your posts once. Please do not link the same post you linked last week! Let’s keep it fresh and fun!

6. By linking your posts here you are agreeing to let us share your post and images on social media and our blogs.

I’m really looking forward to seeing all of your inspiring posts!

A Quick And Simple Gift For The Baker

SONY DSC

My son-in-law is a wonderful cook and a fantastic baker.  I don’t often get to taste his wonderful baked goods, {because I have Celiac Disease and am gluten free} but enjoy hearing the raves he gets from others who can.  For Father’s Day this year I wanted to put together a little something for him.  I took a mason jar that we already had on hand.  You can find these all over the place now {our supermarket is even stocking them}.

SONY DSC

I bought a bunch of packages of cupcake liners ~ five packages fit inside the jar perfectly.  I purchased a cupcake stamp from Hobby Lobby and stamped on a round of cardstock that I cut to fit the top insert of the jar lid.

SONY DSC

Instant baker’s gift!  Now he will have plenty of cupcake liners on hand, all in one place and easily stored.

I should include a gluten free cake mix in with that to get some of his cupcakes that I can eat!

Prepping For The Mad Tea Party

Busy making preparations for this year’s annual Mad Tea Party over at A Fanciful Twist

madteaparty.large

Part of the preparations this year included making up t-shirts {and a onesie} for the party invitees.  We’ve got three other little girls {and one’s baby brother} joining in with my granddaughter for this year’s party and all four girls will be sporting Alice tea party tees!

SONY DSC

I used this same graphic on all the girls’ shirts.

Our little Dormouse will be wearing a onesie with this graphic ~ the March Hare and Mad Hatter trying to stick the poor Dormouse into a teapot.

I added the text underneath the picture, which is from the book.  You can find these images and many more on Pinterest.

We are hoping Saturday will be a nice day so that we can head to our location and take some pictures.
